I always prefer local restaurants to fancy chains. Even though it is not a fancy restaurant, and the food style is different, you always feel like you are in someone's grandmother's house. The lunch portions were big enough for us to last for dinner as leftovers. The French onion soup was excellent.

Food here was really good. I had the sheppards's pie which had more meat than I was expecting. Could have done with more veggies to balance it. Same with the chicken pot pie, much more meat than we expected and needed some extra veggies to balance it. Both were very good though. Decent priced kids menu as well. Spent roughly $65 on 2 adults and 1 kid (no alcohol) before tax and tip.

Buckley's Inn Between in Hampton Bays, NY, is a local favorite known for its warm, inviting atmosphere and excellent cuisine. The menu features a delightful mix of classic American fare and comfort foods, with the Shepherd's Pie and the Prime Rib specials receiving particularly high praise for their flavor and quality. The service here is consistently friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience every visit. My parents like this place and come all the time. Good list of burgers, sandwhiches and pub style food. Decent amount of specials too. Seems like a small local scene too by the bar area, where there are tables, TVs and im pretty sure lotto. Old style that adds to the character and casual and comfortable. Service was friendly and fast enough. I got the special burger which was very good and upcharged for a salad instead of fries. My mom got a fish sandwhich which was also pretty good. Will definitely go back

I have chased authentic Irish eateries from Manhattan to Montauk. For eastern suffolk this feel is pretty authentic. Food is good and closest your get to authentic that far east. Service could be better. I've been there early with no rush and when they are busy and service is just slow and forgetful. I'd recommend mgmt consider bringing sessions to the environment.
